6/2/10 Review & Final test coming
Students should collect their lab reports and bring them into class on Friday. These reports must be on file, according to NYS guidelines.
There will be an in class final test on Monday and Tuesday June 7 & 8. This will include material from the entire year.This should help serve as final review. It will count as a quarter test. Additionally, any student that scores higher than they did on the midterm will geplace their midterm score with this score. This test can really improve your grades, you should take it seriously.
The Regents test will be given on Wednesday June 16 at Noon. Students will have 3 hours to complete the test.
On Thursday we will be doing a tie dye activity. Students must being their own clothes item to dye.

5/24/10 End of year schedule
- On Tuesday May 25, we will take out final unit test on Acids & Bases. A makeup will be posted on Castle Learning .
- On Monday and Tuesday June 7 & 8, we will take a class final test. This will include material from the entire year. It will count as a test grade for the fourth quarter. Additionally, it can count as a makeup for the midterm. If students score higher on this test than the midterm test, I will replace their midterm score with this one. There will be no makeup for this test.
- The Regents test is on Wednesday June 16 at noon.

5/12/10 Acids & Bases - Start Review

To begin review for the Regents test, which will be given on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 12 noon, we will start to use the review books. Students should read pages 2 - 20 and answer the practice questions on p 21-23. This will be due on Monday 5/17. We will continue with another section every few days. You may work ahead at your own pace. Assignments will always be from the practice questions at the back of each section.

5/5/10 Electrochemistry test on Friday
Today we continued with review of electrochemistry and went on to acids & bases.
We will have a review day on Thursday. Students will be able to review and/or use worksheets to prepare for the teat on Friday. 4/16/10 Testing
The 30 week test will be given on Monday 4/19 and Tuesday 4/20. This is a two day test and will include material from the entire year, Review sheets can be found at http://www.markrosengarten.com/Page8.html
The makeup for the organics unit test is online. Log into Castle Learning to take the test. You have until class time on Thursday to complete this test. If you score 80% or above and higher on this than your organic chem test, both of your grades will be averaged to give you your final grade.

3/26/10 Makeup test & Worksheet
There is a makeup test available on Castle learning. The name of the test is "Makeup K&E". To earn extra credit you have to score an 80% or above and then I will average the score with you in class unit test score if it improves your grade. This makeup must be completed by midnight Sunday 4/4.
Students will have to log in with "averillpark.studentid" where studentid is their id number in 9 digit format, with leading zeros, if needed. The first time students log in they will be prompted to set up a password. Follow the instructions to enter a password. If you have forgotten your password you must notify me and I will reset your password.
There is also a worksheet on organic chemistry posted. This is an assignment. you should complete this before we return to school after our spring break. It will be graded. You will get full credit for a second try. It will count as a ? score.

2/3/10 Solutions & Percent composition
On Tuesday we did lab 9-1, to calculate the % composition of sugar in gum. This lab report is due on Thursday, 2/4/10.
Today we did a lab to determine % composition of the hydrated copper sulfate salt. This lab is due on Friday, 2/5/10.
Students got worksheets that are due on Friday. These sheets must be completed with 100% accuracy.
